The Battle

We learn at an early age that nothing in life is free

You have to work for what you've got so nothing belongs to me

I go to work every day to try and get ahead

But all I show at the end of the day is my life a cat and a bed

It seems so pointless that I can't go on

I'll have to do it 'til my life is gone

And if I try again I'll lose this war

Sitting in my room wishing I could run to home

And when my life was turned around by some good luck scarcely found

I got a girl now and I got a job no more waiting acting like a slob
