and as he drank he realized the river jordan at his lips the river rose up

when crazy horse was parted by the white man from this earth
his spirit rose, sioux legend goes, and it cried out at this birth
"won't you bury my heart beside the waters of the creek called wounded knee
. . .and set all god's children free. . ."

listen, listen, to the waters of today,
it's a million tears make the river run. . .
compassion makes it stay and

of thought and word and deed. . .
