I miss the days when my grandma was makin' 3aqoub
They took everything that we own, bas kullo ma7soub
My heart frozen over, I'm prayin'
Inshallah bi doob, maktub
My grandmother sat on the stoop with her feet in the water
I had a dream that one day, I'd see a free Falasteen with my daughter
Freedom is God-given and I know it was all written in a metaphor
The heavens await, but I'ma be late
I'm patient, I know what we're destined for
Freedom forever more

Born and raised in the Gaza strip, forever my paradise
When life is a gamble and I've nеver even ownеd a pair of dice
I think of my loved ones and my family that sacrificed
So I wrote this verse on the moon, maktub (take a breath)
The day that I left, my grandmama gave me this rosary
May God rest her soul, but I know she know
Wherever I'm goin', it's close to me
I look around at the world and I pray
'Cause I know this is not what it's supposed to be
I miss Falasteen and the scenery
That's why I speak of the thievery
