Be Number One, don't worry about anyone,
You must succeed, no matter what it takes,
Society, has values that you must uphold,
Think for yourself, don't swallow what you're told

Small triumphs that I see,
Mean so much more to me
And every day, is just another struggle
We make our way, in spite of all the lies
What does it mean and, what will we leave behind,
Not what it seems, we value our own lives

Beauty and Wealth, the media obsesses with them
These images, to which we all aspire
Financial gain, unrealistic expectations
And those who fail, are thrown up on the pile

Real people who achieve,
Mean so much more to me

And every day, is just another struggle
We make our way, in spite of all the lies
What does it mean and, what will we leave behind,
Not what it seems, we value our own lives

It's time to stop, and take stock of the way we're living,
What will we leave, for those we come before,
While history is written by the winners then it's,
A shallow life, that we all have in store
