I′m not certain I'm not a ghost
Is this free will or am I doing as I′m told?
I know shadows follow the rulesBut what if tonight
By the mercy of light I could choose?

For just one precious third of my life
I'm not hypnotized
By the glow of a screen or the darkness I′ve seen

With these tired eyes
I′ve seen enough for tonight

As my eyes close, my guards come down
An armistice was signed
Predator and prey on equal ground
I lose my balance at the water's edge
A Freudian slip
But I can′t remember what was said

Under lock and key
Vague silhouettes
Are all I've got left
Till I fall back asleep
An afterimage of the divine
Or just my restless mind
A broken cassette
Can′t help but forget
And fade over time

I'll press rewind

Give or take
