So take me back to 2019 we were speaking to a man named gene

He was busy each week, at a college for degrees

When all he ever wanted was some peaceLiving in the US, wonder what he′ll do next, some days he just really wanna quit

But music was his passion, so suddenly imagine, that he could go on another trip

He was studying abroad, it was over in Japan

That was closer to his roots I understand

Kyoto and Osaka, he was travelling around

But really it's himself that he found

Maybe he could stay forever

Cause this is what he really really loves

From the culture and people and all of the scenes

Tell the truth this is what he really wants

But from the summer sun I′m knowing everything can change

Living in Japan there was some obstacles to face

See he needed his degree, in order to be seen

As somebody who they're willing just to take

So he's staying overseas just to finish his degrees

For the hope that maybe he can stay

And saving all his pennies and everything he gets

In the hopes that his dreams can be made

But there's more hurdles gene would have to face

We′re talking 2020 a pandemics on the way

And Gene couldnt move so he's staying in the states

And getting to Japan like nah he couldn′t wait

But now he's got a plan Cause he knows he′s gotta pass

His bachelors degree, save the pennies do the maths

Cause if he can save enough, get a job, he'll be back

To living his life out in Japan

And as we all know the pandemic was a struggle

Cause Gene would want to travel but he's stuck inside his bubble

Making music, playing games, he′s passing the time

Going under Dorwulf, but still on his mind

How to get back to the life he loved

Graduated in December, yeah uh huh

And now he′s gotta apply for all of the jobs

And in 2021 he started his VLOGs

Documented all his travels and documented all his work

But then he found a job as he continued on his search

July 21 he was ready to fly

Fourteen days then it's off to Sendai

And I′m glad that he made it

And now I see it in his smile

Now that Genes in Japan

He'll be happy for a while
